Professors Help Stop "Sac State" Name Change
-- Pro-CSU professors at CSU Sacramento have helped put an
end to the proposed "Sac State" name change, citing
the "stature," "prestige" and "gravitas"
of the CSU name, and the fact that it helps professors get
grants, and students get jobs. CSUS will continue with its
dual identity under which both its city and state identities
will be respected.

name change:

CSU Students in San Jose Seek Similar Remedy
-- Pro-CSU students and alumni at the original and oldest
CSU (1862) campus in San Jose, led by the CSU Spartans group,
have formally asked the SJSU President, SJSU Associated Students,
and the CSU Trustees to implement a similar dual state-city
identity at SJSU, for similar reasons, and have now contacted
the CSUS Faculty Senate for advice and support. For more information
on the struggle of San Jose CSU students and alumni to restore
their freedom to identify and market themselves as CSU students/graduates,
