California State University, San Jose (1972 - ) - Gostate.org has just published an online tribute to the
California State University, San Jose (1972 - ), which was San

CSU Spartans on the
Web & in the News - The
CSU Spartans group has been in the news lately, fighting for the rights of San
Jose students and graduates to identity and market themselves as CSU
students/graduates. Check out these Google search results for "CSU
Spartans": http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-47,GGLD:en&q=CSU+Spartans . The top four links include two Spartan Daily stories
mentioning the CSU Spartans. The CSU Spartans is a group
dedicated to securing the rights of San Jose students and alumni to identify and
market themselves effectively as California State University
students/graduates.
CSU
Spartans Fight for Freedom of Choice; We Need Your Help - CSU
Spartans have recently been lobbying University and CSU officials
for restoration of freedom of choice in San Jose. Students
and graduates at schools like Fresno and Long Beach can freely
choose to market themselves under those school's state or
city identities, but in San Jose you are stuck with the obscure,
non-sensical "SJSU" city college identity whether you
like it or not. Support our campaign to achieve a CSU "alternate
identity" similar to "Fresno State/CSU Fresno" under which
the "San Jose State" name would be retained, but the University
would also publicly recognize that it is the oldest California
State University. This would give San Jose students
and grads the freedom of choice to market themselves
as CSU students/grads if they wish.
To make this happen we need your help lobbying student
government, University, & CSU officials, writing letters, etc. To
support this effort, please join the CSU Spartans Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CSU_Spartans
and/or email alumni@gostate.org
.
